Meet Gatsby

So, our oldest son Joey got himself a new pet today.  Before anything else, I have mentioned in the past that Joey is an animal lover, most particularly of reptiles and other exotic critters.  So when I mention (today or in any of my future post) that Joey got him a new pet, do not expect a dog or a kitty.  He got himself a ferret. :)

It is so stinking cute!  Unlike Joey, Ryan and I are absolutely NOT animal lovers lol.  I wouldn't mind having a puppy as a pet (absolutely NO CATS please!).  But this critter here that Joey got is a cutie pie. lol.  He named it Gatsby, which reminds me of the Gatsby oil-control film that I use to wipe the oiliness in my face lol.

Anywho, here are photos of Joey and Gatsby from today.

apollo loves pineapples

I am so happy that Apollo loves pineapples!  He ate a whole slice of it after dinner last night and wanted some more.  It's really important for me that he grows up eating all fruits and vegetables so this is one big milestone once again! :)  Way to go my boy!

DIY Coffee Table made from Shipping Palettes

I am finally done with my new DIY coffee table, yay!  It only took a week to get it done and lots of sanding and sealing.  I am so happy with how it turned out!

I got the inspiration from Jillian Harris Design.  She painted hers white but I like to have a wood color because my next project is to paint my TV console table a pop of color.  Hers is beautiful too!

Other than her design, I have a collection of inspiration here in my pinterest board - http://pinterest.com/herronsweethome/diy-pallets-inspiration/

making dyed easter eggs for Easter 2013

Happy Easter!  It's Apollo's first time to make easter eggs.  Last year he is still too small but this year we let him get dirty and have fun!  I got the idea from this blog Her View From Home where she used shaving cream and some food coloring (I used icing coloring) to make the marbled effect on the eggs.  Plus I figured Apollo is still too small to use paint and a paint brush (maybe next year) to paint the eggs.  Mine didn't totally turn out like the one she made because I did not mix up a lot of colors but I think they still look great!
